Finding YOUR motivation

March 6, 2018

You may have noticed a lot of motivational quotes on my stories lately. I can’t lie… I’ve always been a sucker for a good motivational quote. But I’ve been thinking lately about what DRIVES motivation and how to STAY motivated.

However, no matter how many motivational quotes I read, they’re still not going to make me get my butt up and GSD.

So while working out (this is when I do my best thinking weirdly… so currently typing this out on the treadmill after my run.) I was thinking about how successful people came to be that way and where their motivation comes from.

I truly believe the recipe for success is consistency and hard work. Talent could be thrown in there… but that’s up for debate depending on what we’re talking about! Lol!

So where does the motivation come from to stay consistent and work hard every single day?

I have to admit I struggle with this. I struggle to stay consistent. Discovering that this is not a strong suit of mine has really helped me to work towards getting better at staying consistent.

For example with blogging… I know that I have to stay consistent in order to grow. How am I growing on Instagram? How do others grow on Instagram? Consistency. They are consistently posting. Consistently engaging with their audience. Consistently creating content to post aka taking pictures, writing blog posts, and coming up with interesting captions.

Okay… now we all understand that in order to be successful we must be consistent and work hard.

So now all we need is the motivation to follow through, right?

I think everyone’s motivation comes from different places but I wanted to share where my motivation comes from because it might help you think of some new ideas! Also my #1 might be a little out of the ordinary.

  1. Visualize it!I picture it. I picture my goals. I picture myself at “the top”. Reaching that goal. Feeling how good it feels. Seeing those rewards from all the hard work. Even if it’s all imaginary. Then I use that throughout the week.
  2. Working out! Nothing motivates me more more than working out. Most of the time I combine visualize and working out. It gives me the extra boost to work out harder.
  3. Spending time with other #bossbabes and successful people. You know the girls… the ones that you see killin’ it and you are inspired by them. Have you ever heard the saying “you are a combination of the 5 people you spend most of your time with”? Well then I want to have some badass, inspiring people in that group! My husband works VERY hard so he inspires me a lot.
  4. Good weather. Okay this one is out of my control but the sunshine really does make such a big difference!

I get off track. A lot. But when I get off track, it usually can come down to the fact that I’m not doing one or a few of those things.

So when/where do you get your motivation? Let’s hear it!

Okay now I gotta get off this treadmill and get to work! LOL 🙂

Love, Natalie
